As a charity that cares for Britain’s most cherished spaces, the National Trust is also the custodian of a plethora of stories, historical tales and thriving utopia of wildlife. The lifecycle of the National Trust is intrinsically tied to people, as each generation experiences nature as an integral part of development and wellbeing.



Reignite a child’s curiosity for nature and the National Trust through designing an interactive platform that bridges the virtual and natural worlds. The application will use AR to open up a whole new world, literally, enabling a location based storytelling experience.

An application for experiential learning 


Instead of rejecting digital media this application scaffolds the virtual and physical worlds. It allows a whole new digital experience employing augmented reality as a tool for interactive learning.

The Nature of Collecting




All children collect, and the act of collecting is an innate way of learning.

One object can be beautiful alone, but, a collection of similar objects is perceived as much more valuable.



Whether we like it or love it, we are wired to collect.

We collect things as a pastime, a mission, sometimes with passion, or just because we can’t help it.



A passion, that if not experienced as a child wouldn’t manifest in adulthood. A passion for geology may have derived from a rock collection, an album of feathers, manifested into a love of birds, or an accumulation of shells that led to an admiration of the ocean.


Being outside and experiencing nature as a young collector, the child’s identity begins to form. Both parties reap the befits - for the future conservation and adolescent development.

The aim of the game is to collect as many creatures as possible, and every time the child visits a National Trust site the player is awarded a piece of the countryside. As their collection grows, so does their knowledge of the environment around them, and local myths and legends.
